About Us

Oakland Borough was founded in 1883 in Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. It is governed by a mayor and a seven-member Council.
Oakland has approximately 600 residents within its borders.

Penelec announces service outages

Penelec has alerted the Borough that there are a few scheduled outages for pole replacements which will affect many residents. These outages are as follows:

  1. March 30th from noon until 3:00pm (rain date March 31st)
  2. April 1st from 10:00am to 3:00pm (rain date April 12th)

The Oakland Borough Administrator has been authorized to manage a Facebook group to publish information to the residents of the Borough and to the public at large.

Emergency Relief Food Pantry

Our Borough has an appointment-only food pantry that is open to all Susquehanna County residents who are struggling with food insecurity, regardless of income. If you need to put food on your table, please contact Valerie Senese at 607-483-1571 for a timely appointment.
